What is YK-11?
YK-11 is a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) noted for reducing levels of myostatin through increased follistatin. While traditional androgenic hormones do increase muscle mass and strength, they typically also aromatize into estrogen and can bind to unwanted tissues such as the prostate, causing unwanted side effects. SARMS have similar anabolic properties to traditional anabolic steroids but with more selective receptor targeting and with minimal aromatization, making them much more tolerable than traditional hormonal PEDs.

The Rundown:
Everybody will tell you that “YK-11 is a myostatin inhibitor”. And that’s intriguing, because myostatin regulates both how many muscle fibers the body produces as well as their size. If we can inhibit myostatin, the breaks are off and the sky is the limit, so anything that can inhibit myostatin should be on your radar.
The truth about YK-11 is that it is so much more interesting than a simple “myostatin inhibitor”. YK-11 is actually a potent booster of a hormone known as follistatin. While not much is known about exactly how this muscle growth pathway works at this time, what is known is that not only does raising levels of follistatin correspond with decreasing myostatin (taking the muscle growth limiter off), but follistatin has also been shown to increase muscle mass size completely independent of myostatin altogether. Let me run that by you again; even if we completely remove myostatin from the body, if we raise follistatin levels, we will significantly increase muscle mass.
Anecdotally, YK-11 is a potent ‘plateau buster’ to be utilized at the tail end of a strength or size cycle, which makes perfect sense given what we know of myostatin. Oral doses of 15-30 mg daily and injections of 10-25 mg daily are the sweet spot for most, and I do recommend stacking YK-11 with LGD for most given their complementary outcomes.
